About

bon vi·vant n. pl. bons vi·vants \ˌbän-vē-ˈvänt, ˌbōⁿ-vē-ˈväⁿ\A person with refined taste, especially one who enjoys superb food and drink.

[French : bon, good + vivant, present participle of vivre, to live.]

A little pretentious?  Perhaps.  Whether my taste is refined could be up for debate, but my enjoyment of superb food and drink is not.  I love food.  I love everything associated with food.  I love to cook, dine, and drink.  I’ve worked in the restaurant industry since I was a teenager.  Once an embarrassment and evidence of my utter lack of motivation, I now see that it has led me here and to the realization that food is my passion.  My obsession.  I will think all day about what I will be cooking or what I will be eating elsewhere.  If I’m going to a restaurant I will look up the menu and study it thoroughly until I decide exactly what I will order.  Yes, I’m a little crazy… but I’m happy.
